Sustainable printing: empowered by sustainable partners

We’re wise to the power of paper, and it seems that you are too. We wouldn’t go through so much of it if it wasn’t so important to us.

But that doesn’t mean that we’re blind to the impact that it has on the environment, either. When you print a document online, it’s up to us to make it as sustainable as possible.

In our mission to print sustainably, we take our own steps to make our online A4 printing operation more viable and greener. But we need partners who can help us make a difference.

So, we’re happy to announce that we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to plant trees. One Tree Planted is a charity dedicated to global reforestation.

They plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity.
They raise awareness about the importance of trees.
They motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.

They also offer businesses like ours who deal in sustainable paper printing a way to offset our carbon emissions with simple sustainability solutions.

The (ongoing) Story of Printt

In 2014, we set out with a very simple mission. If you need to order A4 prints online, then we want to make it easy to print, and print sustainably.

Paper is essential. That’s not a belief – it’s a fact. Screens, eBook readers, virtual reality: even if you don’t suffer from the common headaches and strained eyesight these can give you, we find that there’s no replacing the feel of paper. Add beautiful notes, effective highlights… don’t even get us started on the sophistication that binding and lamination represent.

Many of you must feel the same, as we’re one of the largest on-demand printing apps in the UK – and always growing, which means our ambitions and efforts to be sustainable must evolve too.

We love trees

Environmentally-friendly printing – it’s hidden in the trees

You might guess that we love trees.

Not only because we depend on them for our beautiful 90gsm A4, but because we need them to, well, live. We owe it to trees the fact that the air we breathe is clean and pure.

So, what we take, we try to give back with interest. That’s why we plant a tree for every 5,000 pages we print as part of the Woodland Carbon Scheme.

Each tree provides 8,500 pages back, and absorbs 48 pounds of CO2 every year. It’s a good deal.

Sharing is caring

Letting us handle your printing spares 1000s of personal printers from entering landfills. Environmentally-friendly printing is best done with friends – and businesses can really reap the rewards!

Substance over style

Double-sided printing is the most effective way of using all of your paper. As an aside, to answer the question, is black and white printing more environmentally friendly? In a word, yes. It uses fewer vegetable-based inks.

Bundle up

You can order all of the documents you need to at once, and we’ll bundle them up for delivery. This keeps vehicle emissions down.

Say cheers to nature

Silver birch, rowan, wild cherry, hazel, blackthorn, crab apple, dog rose, elder, cherry plum... we love them all. When it comes to sustainable printing, we only partner with companies that share our vision in CSR.

A portion of the cost of every page that we print goes straight to the Woodland Trust to plant more trees, so we can all enjoy nature as intended.
